Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, today said that the world will see a rise in demand for healthcare, green, energy and automation jobs in the future.

“The world will see a rise in demand for healthcare workers, from India to around the world. In addition, we will see demand for digital, green and mobility jobs in the next 25 years…However, the biggest friction across the world is that the employer says that I am not finding the right talent and the potential employee feels that he does not have enough job opportunities,” he said at the 16th edition of India Digital Summit 2022, organised by IAMAI..

He also stressed that while during the pre-Covid era the need was for soft skills, post- Covid employers are looking for the ability to unlearn things, reskill and upskill.

During her session on ‘Making Right Policies to Promote Innovation & Startup Ecosystem’, Smt Priyanka Chaturvedi, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, said: “We need to have policies that not just are scaling up to understanding technology but also we need to create policies and ecosystem that speed up our adaptation to technology and innovation. India is blessed with a population which has shown tremendous future potential in terms of data analysis, in terms of tech spaces. India will take the lead position in tech innovation, if we have skilled people and create an enabling environment, create an ecosystem that encourages innovation in tech space.”

She also stressed that fintech, biotech, greentech will be the next wave for India’s growth. Referring to cryptocurrency, she mentioned that banning and regulating a sector scuttles growth and is not a solution for the country.
